Description of West of Bazaar

This is a real place along K-177. K-177 is a scenic by-way through the Flint Hills and my husband and I have traveled it from just east of El Dorado to Strong City many times.

The crossroads shown in West of Bazaar lead into Bazaar, a tiny little town so small it has no shops. Not even a bar. At least it didn’t the last time we passed through.

As with many of my Flint Hills pieces, distance is the main attraction. But for this piece, low-hanging clouds and gray light (which I dearly love) added to drawing enjoyment.

The “grainy” look is the result of working on mat board. Most of the time, I prefer much smoother drawing surfaces, but it worked quite well for this piece.
